October, 1999:
Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania. My wife and I met with Cleon
Watts to take a look at 54Z. I was immediately impressed
with the workmanship and attention to detail that Cleon had put
into restoring the aircraft. Cleon and I flew from the grass
strip (my first time) and he let me get a feel for how the
aircraft handled. 54Z looked just as good up close as it had
in the photos.
I had already viewed
another aircraft and had one more aircraft to look at but a few
days later, I called Cleon and made the deal.
