Aerodynamics Vortex Generators
Here is a good
view of the Micro
Aerodynamics Vortex Generators mounted on the tops of
the wings. The kit comes with the VGs (little
tabs) unpainted so I had to get Larry at the paint shop in
Healdsburg to paint them for me before they could be
attached. The whole installation process took about
a day and the instructions with the kit were very easy to
follow. The kit provides everything you need right
down to a pencil to do the marking with. The effect
they have on the slow flight characteristics is very
noticeable. You can haul the nose up and power along
at 50 mph and still have complete elevator and aileron
control. Shortwings are hard to stall in the first
place but this makes it almost impossible to get loss of
lift with the power off.
