The Baggage
Door Gas Strut was presented in the Jan-Feb, 1999 issue of
the Short Wing Piper News. Frank Sperandeo III was
the author and the article provided detailed instructions
on how to do the modifications and where to get the parts.
I deviated a little from his description by fabricating an
L- shaped bracket to mount on the gusset channel brace
instead of using a 1" diameter boss. Otherwise,
it worked out just as Frank described it.
