An interesting
addition to 54Z is this "fishing pole" storage
tube mounted at the back of the baggage compartment.
It runs back through the tail to just in front of the
jack-screw assembly. It is an aluminum tube
supported by angle aluminum cross pieces that are attached
to the fuselage tubing using Adel clamps. It is
limited to 10 lbs maximum but it would be almost
impossible to get 10 lbs of fishing poles in it. The
337 field approval was a lot of work but it's official!
