The trim and
lettering on the aircraft is done in "Madrid
Red". If you look close, you can see that the
trim on the fuselage has a very thin black border.
Cleon Watts (previous owner) related to me that when he
masked the aircraft for painting, the masking did not work
as well as he wanted and the edge of the trim paint was a
little ragged. Instead of starting over, he found a
thin edging tape made by 3M which he used to border all
the trim (with the exception of the tail flash which was
done later and came out much cleaner). As you can
see, that was a lot of extra work but the results are
actually very impressive. The extra black accent
really makes the trim stand out and worked out better than
he originally planned.
