Of all the items in
the museum, this one really stood out for me. This one
bladed prop was actually developed and is a real study in
complicating a simple concept. It actually has a variable
mass inside the propeller that slides to and from the hub as the
RPM changes to keep the dynamic balance. I never did figure
out what the advantage of a single bladed prop would be but
someone a whole lot smarter than I must have had a reason.
